FOOTBALL: Defensive back suspended after OWI arrest

Ball State defensive back Darius Conaway will not play against Army or Western Michigan, after being arrested for operating while intoxicated late Sunday night.Conaway, 20, was pulled over at the intersection of Linden and Rex Streets, with six passengers in a five-person vehicle, according to the Muncie Police Department.

FOOTBALL: Running duo set for big performance

One look at the game film from when Army played Yale, and Ball State’s Jahwan Edwards and Horactio Banks are probably salivating.The football team’s rushing duo will be going up against a defense that allowed 335 rushing yards to D-II Yale, along with 6 rushing touchdowns.In its four games, Army has given up 39, 35, 24, and 49 points.“[Army defensive coordinator] Coach [Jay] Bateman will have them in position, there’s no doubt about that,” Banks said.

FOOTBALL: Waiting game proves difficult for some

Ball State football players sprawled out on the visiting locker room floor in Toledo. Some sat, some stood, all tried to relax, but there was nothing they could do about their bodies and minds being ready for a game.It wasn’t that the game hadn’t started, 14 plays had already been run, and over five minutes had ticked off the clock.
