Ball State will face a big challenge in its first game of the weekend as it will take on defending national champion Oklahoma on Friday.
With spring sports starting up and winter sports moving deeper into conference play, it's hard to keep track of everything that's going on in Ball State athletics. Here's everything that happened the weekend of Feb. 9-11 for Ball State's athletic teams.
Ball State softball wrapped up its first of five early-season tournaments Sunday afternoon.
After a 1-1 start on the first day of the season, Ball State softball dominated both North Carolina State and Georgetown to sweep Saturday's doubleheader in Fort Myers, Florida.
Ball State (1-1) had five different players drive in runs in its 10-2 rout of LIU-Brooklyn (0-2) on Friday evening to earn its first victory in 2018.

Ball State softball opens its eight game fall schedule this Sunday with a trip to Westfield, Indiana to take on IUPUI and Western Kentucky in the State of Indiana Tournament.

Finding no luck in the number three, Ball State softball (29-22,13-6 MAC) fell to Mid-American Conference foe Central Michigan (32-13,14-4 MAC) this afternoon with a final score of 6-1.
Thursdays are travel days for the Ball State softball team as they prepare to play three-game series, with games on Friday, Saturday and sometimes even Sunday.
Right-handed pitcher junior Carolyn Wilmes cracked open Ball State's softball history book this afternoon by recording her first career no-hitter to lead the team to a 2-1 victory over Toledo (20-30, 8-9 MAC) in the first game of today's double-header.
In just three appearances last week, Ball State softball's Carolyn Wilmes recorded a 0.93 ERA in 15 innings of work, while holding opponents to a .185 batting average against her. The right handed pitcher was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Pitcher of the Week this afternoon for the first time in her career.

In a close battle between the two Mid-American Conference league leaders, Ball State softball (25-17, 9-1 MAC) went 2-0 in today's doubleheader against Ohio (25-10, 6-4 MAC). With a 3-2 victory over the Bobcats in the first game, and an extra-inning 3-2 victory in the second matchup, the Cardinals now hold an eight-game win streak and handed Ohio its first loss while at home this season. Junior right hander Carolyn Wilmes had a day on the mound, grabbing her 11th win for a complete game.
