Now, the two-game deal Ball State signed as a friendly family rivalry becomes a whole lot more as No. 5 Georgetown University, led by Ronny's older brother John Thompson III, comes to Worthen Arena Wednesday night.
Nearly a week after experiencing a career game on Ball State University's first nationally televised home game, Cardinals' safety Alex Knipp earned his first Mid-American Conference West Division Defensive Player of the Week honor. Knipp had a career-high 15 tackles and added a second-quarter interception against the University of Toledo, helping Ball State to a 41-20 win.
Ball State University football player Wendell Brown was arrested Saturday morning on suspicion of driving while intoxicated. Brown, a senior linebacker, had the second most tackles on the Cardinals last season team but suffered a pectoral tear during off-season weight lifting.

Almost two weeks after elections, Muncie learned who will be its new mayor: Jim Mansfield. The Delaware County Election Board announced the democratic candidate beat Sharon McShurley by an 11-vote margin during a meeting on Friday. As the Deleware County Election Board meeting drew to a close on Friday, a Muncie resident stood up and addressed the board even though it was not on the meeting's agenda. Voter Robert Lewis, who lives in precinct 18, approached the board with a complaint about being treated unequally.
The Black Student Association was able to bring students together, even from far away universities, and gave them a forum to discuss topics such as the problems facing black students. BSA President Ebony Strong said the conference went well and students benefited a lot from the conferences, which included a fashion show on Friday and guest speakers on Saturday.
