Field hockey takes 2-0 record into 8-game road trip

The Ball State field hockey team opened its season with a pair of wins against St. Louis and Ohio, to make them undefeated as they travel to Oxford, Ohio to take on Boston University (2-0) and University of Massachusetts-Lowell (1-1) in the Miami Invitational.

Two field hockey players win All-MAC honors

A pair of Ball State field hockey (8-10, 3-3 MAC) players were named All-Mid-American Conference. Senior midfielder Mikayla Mooney made the All-MAC first team, and sophomore forward Darbi Gullett was awarded a spot on the second team. Both are winning a postseason award for the first time in their Ball State careers.

Longacre rebuilds team culture in first year as head coach

In her first year as head coach, Christy Longacre led Ball State field hockey to its first Mid-American Conference Tournament since 2011, one season after the Cardinals lost all six of their conference games. But her biggest accomplishment might be returning a family culture back to the team.  Longacre won't take the credit, however, because that’s her style. Instead, she said the seniors were responsible.
