Coffeehouse doubles as meeting place since 2012

For many people, a coffeehouse is merely an extension of the office, or a place to stop and grab breakfast on the way to class. For others, the idea of a coffeehouse represents much more than that, especially on or near a college campus. It’s a connection point, a place to meet up with new or old friends, have a drink together and enjoy real conversation.

Small-scale combat: a model hobby

The second week of the 89th annual National Aeromodeling Championships is underway at Muncie’s Academy of Model Aeronautics, the world’s largest model aviation society. The event draws upward of a thousand model aeronautic enthusiasts every year and features around 120 different aero model events ranging from races and time trials, to acrobatics and precision flying—ensuring plenty of excitement over the course of the month long event.



The Beneficence statue was sculpted by Daniel Chester French and represents his last commissioned work. Benny has been part of Ball State’s campus since 1937. Ball State students, faculty participate in international Fulbright program

After his first experience in Slovenia in 1995, Dom Caristi has gone on one more Fulbright trip to Greece, become a Fulbright ambassador and is Ball State’s Fulbright adviser. He has even applied to go on a third trip. “I’m their biggest cheerleader ... There are plenty of more prestigious Fulbrighters than me. There are members of the U.S. Senate, House of Representatives. There are captains of industry,” Caristi said. “They’re more famous and more accomplished, but there’s nobody who’s more enthusiastic about it than me.”
