Ball State student searches for blood stem cell donor

Ball State University student Kelsey Koch has Job's Disease, a rare genetic immune deficiency disease that causes her skin to deteriorate.She needs a blood stem cell transplant to help her rare affliction.Koch will speak at a Ball State professor's class this morning to help raise awareness for her disease, which her teenage sister also has.

Ball State students showcase 'Findings'

They walked 206.8 miles through cities like Venice and Pompeii. They traveled from site to site for 33 days. At the end, there were 17 different experiences and stories to tell.Fifteen art students and two art professors, Scott Anderson and David Hannon, traveled through Italy from May 11 to June 13 with one mission: to experience. Starting Tuesday, a combination of pieces completed in Italy and reaction pieces to the trip will be showcased in the Atrium Gallery in an exhibit called "Findings."

FOOTBALL: Orsbon ready to block for Cards' running backs

With Ball State University's offense focused on the rushing attack, wide receiver Briggs Orsbon has had to adjust his role.Orsbon has been the Cardinals' leading receiver the past two years, but without Kelly Page leading the offense, receptions have been hard to come by. In 2 1/2 games since taking over for Page, Tanner Justice has just 14 completions.Ball State's new run-first scheme has forced Orsbon and the other wide receivers to do more blocking.

Gunshots fired at Village bar during weekend; one injured

Police assume shots directed at The Chug around 2:30 a.m. Saturday were fired by two men denied entry to the bar earlier that morning.Muncie police officer Larry Robbins was on duty Saturday morning, dealing with an intoxicated person inside a car in the parking lot close to Dill Street Bar, when he heard the shots. Robbins heard four gun shots. Two were directed at the door and door handle, and another hit a metal framing inside the building.

This is about the time of year when people have been pulling their hair out and grinding their teeth for a few weeks. There aren't enough hours in a day to eat, sleep, get work done and do whatever else needs to be done and the stress is building a skyscraper in our minds.

FOOTBALL: Ball State ready after bye week

For Stan Parrish and Ball State University, the bye week came at just the right time in their schedule.Nine weeks into the season, the Cardinals were able to take a break for the first time this year. Now they are preparing for their final three games.

WOMEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING: Cards lose on road to Zips, Bulls

After starting the season strong last weekend, the women's swimming and diving team failed to find the same spark, losing to both the University of Akron and the University at Buffalo. With the losses, Ball State drops to 1-3, both on the season and in Mid-American Conference play.

The Ball State University men's basketball team will have at least three opportunities in the first two months of the season to show Indiana where it stands among the best college basketball programs in the state.
