Ball State University women's basketball coach Kelly Packard's patience has been tested with the recent problems her team has had on defense. The Cardinals have struggled to finish on the defensive end, allowing offensive rebounds and teams to run two or three shot clock cycles before finally grabbing the board - or giving up a basket.

He also was a part of the 400 freestyle relay team that placed first. Casey Schroeder, Devon Hill, Austin Laska and Battjes combined for a time of 3:09.51.
The Cardinal Classic was started in the late-'80s by then-head coach Mary Roth. The meet used to feature a number of teams each year - at its peak, six to seven teams were common for the event. Ball State coach Nadalie Walsh said that she hopes to recreate that atmosphere in the future.

Ball State swept the top three spots in the 50-yard freestyle final, with Ben Battjes taking first place with a time of 21.58. Austin Laska (21.83) and Casey Schroeder (21.88) took second and third, respectively.
The Cardinals' top performance on Saturday came in the 60-meter dash, as Ball State captured the No. 3 (Janae Taylor - 7.87), 4 (Ra'Jae Marable - 7.95) and 5 Katie Johnson (7.96) spots.
On defense Ball State has allowed 72.5 points a game. That fact is not lost on Packard or the team, especially after allowing Eastern Michigan University (14-3, 4-1) to have multiple offensive possessions that used the entire shot clock Wednesday night.
Balls were flying in the L.A. Pittenger Student Center ballroom Friday night at the second annual table tennis tournament. Matt Marshall, a coordinator of the event, put together this competition for The Association of College Union International.
