WOMEN'S SWIMMING AND DIVING: Cards remain perfect in Indy with robust Circle City win

INDIANAPOLIS '- If the Ball State University women's swimming and diving team could chose where next month's Mid-American Conference Championship was, there is no doubt it would be in Indianapolis. The Cardinals are undefeated (7-0) and have a tournament win in Indianapolis this season, while just being 3-5 outside of the Capitol City.

Unity pageant contestants illustrate confidence, beauty

The Unity Scholarship Pageant was a contest that Miss Unity said judges a person not just on their looks, but on their inner beauty. Multicultural Center Director Tiffany Washington said all the contestants worked tirelessly for months to prepare for the contest, being involved with community service and multicultural center events as well as preparing for the pageant.

GYMNASTICS: Ball State plays host to Cardinal Classic

The Cardinal Classic was started in the late-'80s by then-head coach Mary Roth. The meet used to feature a number of teams each year - at its peak, six to seven teams were common for the event. Ball State coach Nadalie Walsh said that she hopes to recreate that atmosphere in the future.

Ball State ping pong tournament lead to regional competition

Balls were flying in the L.A. Pittenger Student Center ballroom Friday night at the second annual table tennis tournament. Matt Marshall, a coordinator of the event, put together this competition for The Association of College Union International.

Randy Howard, vice president for business affairs and Ball State University treasurer, briefed the faculty council Thursday on what the university is doing to address the $15.2 million budget cut for state-appropriated funding.
