New Twisters location serves up sweet drinks in The Village

MUNCIE, Ind. — Twisters has been a fan-favorite in Delaware County for “sodies”, a beverage which consists of soda mixed with flavored syrups, creamers and toppings. The Yorktown, Pendleton and Noblesville stores are now joined with a fourth location closer to Ball State’s campus in Muncie.

The business started in 2022, with the first physical store opening in 2023 in Pendleton. Co-owner Jacklyn Chadburn knew about running the business, while her partner Kelly Klein started with the vision. Klein attended school in Utah, where the trend started. She saw that the state of Indiana lacked soda shops in comparison.

“I had it out there like ten years ago, and I just waited and waited for somebody to come out here, and no one was,” explained Klein.

After the success of the business, she began to invest in more locations, acknowledging why Muncie was the place for the newest one.

“Larger corporations tend to forget people in northern Indiana, and so I'm trying to trickle my way up to give us what we all really want,” she said.

The shop currently has 62 “signature twisters” on the menu, soda combinations that are already created for the customer. One of those being the “chirp chirp” drink, which is dedicated to Ball State. Buyers are also able to build their own creation by choosing their preferred base and inclusions.

The community is already enjoying the concept of the store and leaving positive feedback.

“I got the Chirp Chrip drink,” a customer shared. “This is my first time trying twisters, and it's really good, so will definitely be coming back.”

Twisters is open seven days a week. You can find its full menu and schedule on its website.
