MUNCIE, Ind. — With an incoming heat wave, many citizens across Muncie are trying their best to stay cool. Luckily, one man is trying to help locals beat the heat with his very own ice cream truck.
With everyone screaming for ice cream, Rick Moghadam makes sure to deliver those sweet treats to anyone who hears nostalgic tunes of an ice cream truck driving down their street.
“It never gets old when you see someone who's having a mundane day and they smile because they see the ice cream truck,” says Moghadam. “They hear the ice cream truck; it brings happiness to any situation.”
Not only is Moghadam out serving ice cream to locals, he is also providing to those who can’t afford ice cream, using all of his tips for children who can't afford ice cream.
“The tip jar, I don't keep any of that money,” said Moghadam. “What that money is for is for kids who can’t afford to buy ice cream, we will just pay for it out of the tip jar.”
Seeing the community engage in his mission of providing smiles and ice cream to everyone means the world to Moghadam.
“I really appreciate the community when someone throws a couple dollars in that tip jar,” Moghadam explained. “You may not know what kind of positive energy and positive impact you're going to have on someone's life out there.
In order to keep smiles going all year round, Moghdam is also working on a food and drink bus called “Skoolie’s Bites and Brews,” with all his progress towards the bus being posted on his TikTok at 765icecream.
You can also track which parts of Muncie he will be visiting on the same TikTok page.
