At Ball State University a student led organization called cardinal closet, provides all students the opportunity to gain free professional attire.
Cardinal closet is located at Park Residence Hall in the Eastern Tunnel. Open hours for the spring are on the Ball State's website.
Sydney Colle, the president of the student action team, became a part of the organization her senior year. The cardinal closet is a completely free resource to students who are in need of business attire.
“This team was very easy to become a part of, and it was for such a good cause,” said Sydney Colle.
Cardinal Closet receives most of its donations from past alumni or faculty staff. They accept business casual and business formal attire.
“We are partnered with fashion, as well as the career center, for events like the Cardinal Closet," said Syndey Colle.
The organization is currently not accepting donations, but if you have more business attire to donate reach out to The Lavender Door.
The Lavender Door is overseen by the multi cultural center which, provides all Ball State student’s with free gender-affirming clothing.
“One thing that we strive for in our mission with the Cardinal Closet is to focus on sustainability practices with shopping as well as how we launder our clothes,” said Colle.
Cardinal Closet offers multiple events throughout the year that are always open to Ball State students.
