Five Ball State students — Grace Hollars, Josh Shelton, Samantha Johnson, Kara Biernat and Elizabeth Wyman — and professor Ryan Sparrow traveled to Pyeongchang, South Korea, to cover the Olympics from Feb. 8 to Feb. 19. In 2012, BSU at the Games was started as a way for students to travel and experience different cultures while covering the Olympics.

The 11th annual Ball State Dance Marathon took place Feb. 17 in the Field and Sports Building. Participants raised $653,011.23 for Riley Hospital for Children. The donations help fund the Magic Castle Cart — a program that delivers more than 20,000 gifts to patients, parents and siblings annually — and pediatric palliative care.

Ball State men's swimming and diving celebrates their Senior Night at the meet against Miami Feb. 10 in Lewellen Pool. The Cardinals lost 81-217.
Muncie Mission held their annual Walk a Mile in My Shoes event that raises money to address physical and spiritual needs through food, shelter, Christian counseling and other long-term programs. The walk is held in February with harsh weather so that participants can empathize with homeless people that have to face these conditions on a daily basis. The 2018 fund goal was to reach $100,000.
