Ball State’s women’s volleyball started off strong against Ohio University and looked to close out the night early after winning the first two sets of the game Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, in John E. Worthen Arena.

However, the Bobcats showed up to work in the third set, and caught those in attendance off guard by coming back and sending the game into a fourth set. From there, the Cardinals kicked it up a notch and closed out the game in the fourth set ending the game 3-1 putting Ball State's record at 15-5 for the season.

Their next two games will be away at Central Michigan on the 18th and Eastern Michigan on the 21st.

The original location in Granger, IN opened in November 2017, and serves a variety of local dishes and cocktails. The new location in Muncie plans to offer similar dishes along with the holding of a three-way liquor license. Items include cauliflower torta, poutine tater tots and sweet potato gnocchi. Drink options include custom cocktails and “over the top milkshakes” adorned in buttercream, sprinkles, miniature donuts and more.

Muncie’s newest eatery will be open Monday through Wednesday 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. and Thursday through Saturday 4 p.m. to 3 a.m., and will be closed on Sundays.

The festival showcased multiple dance performances, traditional and local food vendors, along with kid friendly activities. September is important to Chinese culture because it showcases the Chinese Moon Festival throughout the month, and is the largest festival after Chinese New Year.

Indianapolis' Chinese Festival

The 6th annual Indianapolis Chinese Festival was hosted at IUPUI's Wood Plaza Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018. The festival showcased multiple dance performances, traditional and local food vendors, along with kid friendly activities. September is important to Chinese culture because it showcases the Chinese Moon Festival throughout the month, and is the largest festival after Chinese New Year. 


Muncie community members gathered to share in laughter, food and activities Thursday on the Washington Street Bridge for Muncie’s Bridge Dinner.
Multiple parts of the community were represented at the events from the presence of local food and item vendors such as the Guardian Brewing Company and the Muncie Central Jazz Band to decorations created by second grade classes from Burris Laboratory School.
Erin Moore, program manager with the Office of Community Engagement at Ball State, said this biannual event hosted by Muncie Neighborhoods was sparked by Peter Kageyama’s “Love Where You Live” campaign, which cultivating community pride for each facet of their hometown.

The Muncie Fire Department and Police Department gathered at Texas Roadhouse on Sept. 18, 2018, to participate in the fifth annual Battle of the Badges Rib-Eating Competition. Ten percent of all meals bought during the competition was donated to the charity of the winner's choosing. The Fire Department chose Toys for Tots because they work with the organization every year during the holiday season.

After completing 36 holes, the Cardinals held second place, finishing the day with a score of 594 (18-over-par). The tournament between the 17 colleges concludes Tuesday afternoon.


The festival is held annually educate the community in the history, arts and culture of Muncie. Community engagement is encouraged through booths, activities and crafts throughout the  Emily Kimbrough Historic District. Events such as Olde Wrestling, Beard Contests and more were held.
