LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Instructor remembers former Journalism Department professor Howie Snider

Dear Editor, More than 20 years ago when I first began teaching at Ball State in the journalism department, I met Howie Snider, who had been teaching in the department for 10 years, mostly advertising and mass media. Highly popular among students, the Muncie native had already been named university "Instructor of the Year" and would be again before he retired in 2004.

We owe Bernie Sanders for getting young people fired up about politics. But in the end, he didn’t win the Democratic nomination. What does this mean for Sanders supporters come Nov. 8? Some are siding with Hillary Clinton, at the behest of Sanders. Others felt angered that Sanders, in their words, sold out to the establishment.

Strengths of Western Michigan can cloud evaluation of Ball State's performance

With a backup quarterback running up against a top 25 opponent – what exactly does Ball State’s 52-20 loss to Western Michigan mean? After all, the Cardinals offense was able to move the ball – albeit it struggled to punch the ball into the end zone – several young players flashed their potential and the team still has a path to bowl eligibility. “There’s a lot of things that were good on tape, and I know we’ll be excited about some things that we put on tape about tonight’s game,” head coach Mike Neu said.
