Living a Legacy

Students who have followed in their family’s footsteps by attending the same college or university that they have graduated from are known as legacy students. Kate and Sarah Mahnensmith along with their mom, Holly, are examples of legacy students who have a long-standing relationship with Ball State.

Tech Startup Weekend comes to Muncie

Tech Startup Weekend was hosted this weekend at 115 S. Walnut St. Oct. 8 - 10. Dozens of participants, majorly Ball State students, participated in the events to learn about entrepreneurship and creating a startup company.

2 goals in 4 minutes help lift Toledo over Ball State

After nearly 83 scoreless minutes, the final seven minutes helped give Toledo a 2-1 win over Ball State Sunday afternoon.  In the 87th minute, Toledo freshman midfielder Olivia Dault hit junior forward Stephanie Currie in stride to send the ball past senior goalkeeper Alex DeRuvo, to give the Rockets the victory.

Rise of the Billionaire Astronaut

Billionaires like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos and Richard Branson, who have all invested heavily in space exploration and transportation, aren’t in it for the final frontier — they’re in it for more money.

When Brittney Grim, director of student and young alumni philanthropy and 2018 Ball State alumna, was a student at Ball State, she said she wished there was a program for students who performed well in school and were involved but maybe didn’t get the recognition they felt they deserved from the university.
