Advertising through cell phones could be the wave of the future, according to a Ball State University study. A recently released study surveyed 669 college students on the idea of cell phone advertising, also known as mobile marketing. While the majority said they'd prefer no advertising on their cell phones, 66 percent said they could be persuaded if they were paid in some way.

The Ball State University women's golf team has signed Amy Roberts to a national letter of intent. Roberts is from Toronto and played at the Don Mills College Institute. As a participant in the Canadian National Junior Golf Championship for the past three years, Roberts has earned medalist honors in each of the last three seasons on the Ping Regional Junior Golf Tour.
Chris Miller, a sophomore punter for the Ball State University football team, was named to the Athlon Sports Preseason All-America First-Team. Miller was also honored as The Sporting News All-Mid-American Conference Preseason selection and was selected as the 11th-best punter in the nation by the magazine.

The Delaware County smoking ban will officially go into effect Saturday, according to Delaware County Commissioner Tom Bennington. The county-wide smoking ban was passed unanimously by the Delaware County Board of Health in February. The ban prohibits smoking in public buildings, excluding private clubs, free-standing bars and personal homes and cars.

The Ball State University Summer Chorus, a combined group of singers from Ball State University and the Muncie community, will perform a varied selection of works Tuesday, July 18 at 7:30 p.m. in Sursa Hall. Returning director Jeffrey Pappas said that this year's annual show will be marked by variety in musical selection as well as chorus members.
