I am this year's Air Jam Chair on the Homecoming Steering Committee. I am writing in response to yesterday's opinion article regarding Air Jam regulations. I would like to clarify the Air Jam entry and judging procedures. Participants in Air Jam sign up on a first-come, first-serve basis and information was available at both the spring and fall information meetings this year.
The Homecoming Parade is a great idea and I'm happy we have it. Having said that, the parade leaves behind a great deal of trash. In fact, many of the people who are in the parade spend their time throwing candy, passing out flyers, etc. Likewise, the people who attend the parade leave behind bottles, cans, newspapers and other trash.

Emens Auditorium lost more than $30,000 on its Oct. 15 O.A.R show, putting Emens' total loss for rock shows during the Fall Semester at more than $70,000. Bob Myers, director of Emens Auditorium and Pruis Hall, said the show was marketed well, but students simply did not show up for the concert.
