MEN'S BASKETBALL: Cards lose in tourney

With 7:56 remaining in the first half, a Skip Mills dunk on a fast break put the Ball State University men's basketball team in a 19-18 lead over No. 22 Oklahoma State University. However, a 17-4 run to end the half put the Cowboys up by 12 at halftime, and they never looked back.

Investigation ends Delta Tau Delta suspension

Ball State University's Delta Tau Delta fraternity is no longer suspended for an attack that occurred outside its house in early November. The fraternity was suspended while the Office of Student Life conducted an investigation looking into Delta Tau Delta's involvement.


Former football players no longer students

Two former Ball State University freshmen football players are no longer students, university spokesman Layne Cameron said. For confidentiality reasons, he said he could not clarify whether the students withdrew voluntarily or were expelled. Brandon Houston remains in jail almost two months after both students were arrested for suspicion of robbery, jail officials said.

Semester report card

Cross Country Without injured seniors Rose Lehe and Amanda Ponsot for a majority of the season, the Ball State University cross country team was led by freshman Sara Kehe. Kehe's highest finish of the season was second place at the Falcon Invitational, and she also finished first among Ball State runners in all the meets this season.

The Ball State University women's basketball team beat Valparaiso University 68-59. Porchia Green lead the team's scorers with 21 points. She also had 11 rebounds and 5 assists, the top for the team. Kelsey Corbin added 15 points and 4 assists. The next game will be Monday, Dec.

Football players receive honors in SI.com picks

Ball State University football players Darius Hill, a sophomore tight end, and Chris Miller, a sophomore punter, garnered honorable mention honors on SI.com's All-America Team. During the 2006 season, Hill caught 42 passes for 741 yards and 10 touchdowns.


Fallfest concert features brass instruments

Waltz, march and jazz music can be heard at the Fallfest II music concert at 5:30 p.m. in the Ball State University Music Instruction Building's Choral Hall. Ball State music students in a tuba-euphonium class will be performing music that will feature four quartets, one quintet and three soloists, Mark Mordue, professor of tuba and euphonium, said.
