If you've got it, flaunt it

During a five-month stretch, Noah Aberlin will have traveled over 14,000 miles visiting 14 states and four Canadian provinces, some for only one night. Aberlin, a member of the chorus and assistant stage manager for the forthcoming show, "The Producers," doesn't see much of those cities - usually a hotel and the theater, and, if he's lucky, a late-night dining venue.

OUR VIEW: Flakey schedule

Snow days rarely occur in a collegiate environment, but this week it happened twice. Students and faculty spent their Wednesday digging out vehicles and clearing pathways through more than a foot of snow. Although night classes still met Wednesday, some people found their travel inhibited.

Muncie sees third largest snowfall in 60 years; 1950 blizzard worse

Tuesday's blizzard blanketed Muncie in its third largest snowfall in the past 60 years, according to the National Weather Service. Muncie received between 10.5 and 11 inches of snow, with it getting as deep as 13 inches in nearby Alexandria and Winchester, Logan Johnson, a meteorologist at the NWS in Indianapolis said.

TOWARDS DISRESPECTFUL AUTHORITY: Kindergarten mentality helps

About seven years ago I took a few minutes to read through a poster based on Robert Fulghum's book, "All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten." My initial reaction was ridicule. I found it preposterous to think that sound guidance for my life could be found in the comfort of milk and cookies, a blankie and naps.

Satire used to explore race

Through 11 museum "exhibits," "The Colored Museum" reflects on the blacks' experience from slavery to modern day. The George C. Wolfe play uses satire to explore black stereotypes and modern views on black history. "The Colored Museum" confronts issues from homosexuality to Vietnam.

MEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Cards not overlooking winless team

Don't expect coach Joel Walton to limit the playing time of his starters against a winless Mercyhurst College. The Ball State University men's volleyball team will play Mercyhurst (0-9, 0-4 Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association) at 7 p.m. today in Erie, Penn.

Storm doesn't affect restaurants' Valentine business

Although a blizzard the night before Valentine's Day sounds like a recipe for disaster, restaurant and business owners did not expect to suffer huge losses on the most date-friendly night of the year. Throughout Muncie, procrastinators prospered in terms of Valentine's Day dinner plans.

Staff, students take on snow

Students were still marching along stamped-out paths on the east side of campus Wednesday afternoon with no plow in sight. Other students walked along the plowed streets carrying shovels and dining trays preparing to dig out their cars from the snow. Among them were freshmen Greg Liebbe and Ian Davis, telecommunications majors.

THE PEANUT GALLERY: A grown-up Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day is an ideal day for candy lovers across campus. My favorite part of the day is being able to stick my hand in a bag of Sweethearts to start my day of sugar-high bliss. It seems that candy is necessary on Valentine's Day as an attempt to say "I love you.

Naughty nightie or ugly undies?

Lace, ruffles, leather and fishnet are the tip of the iceberg when it comes to sexy lingerie, available for purchase at stores such as Frederick's of Hollywood or online distributors such as shopthebunny.
