An icon of American comedy will be celebrating his birthday at Emens Auditorium at Ball State University Saturday at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. "Larry the Cable Guy" will appear at Ball State for the second time in two years. Parking Services will not ticket vehicles in most Ball State University parking lots Friday while the school clears snow from Tuesday's blizzard, Public Safety Director Gene Burton said. As the vice president of Business Affairs, Kinghorn is the person who makes the recommendation to Ball State University President Jo Ann Gora to cancel classes. Kinghorn made the recommendation to Gora to cancel classes on Tuesday, and he also helped make the decision to cancel all classes before 5 p.

The Delaware County Commissioners, Highway Superintendent and others in the field have decided to keep the snow emergency in effect until 6 a.m. Thursday. The decision to keep the snow emergency until Thursday is to restrict unnecessary travel on county roads and allow the County Highway Department to continue plowing their work.
Tuesday's blizzard left state and county roads covered in dangerous amounts of snow and ice, according to an Indiana State Police report. Mile marker 59 on Interstate 69 in Grant County was closed at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday after a semi-tractor with two trailers jack-knifed and rolled onto its side, blocking both southbound lanes, according to reports.
Courtside dining hall and the Bookmark Cafe closed Wednesday, but all other dining halls remained open. Courtside staff had difficulty getting into work because of road conditions, Jon Lewis, director of campus dining services, said. Bookmark Cafe closed because of low customer counts and the staff was needed elsewhere.
After Tuesday's blizzard, Muncie remained relatively unscathed, said Brian Lipscomb, sheriff's captain for Delaware County Emergency Management. There weren't any reports of severe property damage, and there wasn't an unusual number of traffic accidents, he said.
