Avoid weary driver syndrome

Each year, thousands of students from all over the country leave their stressful, work-filled days for one week of vacation during the spring. Despite long hours of work and small amounts of sleep, some of these young men and women brave the roads. Sgt. Rod Russell, Indiana State Police public information officer for the Redkey district, said fatigue driving is a problem all year long, but it becomes more concentrated between mid-March and mid-April, or the time for Spring Breaks, because more cars are on the road.



Students travel to Southwest

Ball State University students have an opportunity to travel to the American Southwest this summer, where they will hike 11 miles into the Grand Canyon, participate in an American Indian sweat ceremony and meet five different American Indian tribes. Jim Coffin, Rinker Center for International Programs director, said he will be taking up to 20 students on the trip as part of a field study offered by the Department of Anthropology, but there are only five spaces remaining.


Birth control prices to increase at BSU

Women who purchase birth control through the Amelia T. Wood Health Center pharmacy might soon pay double for the product. The prices of all forms of birth control offered through the pharmacy will increase after the current supply is depleted, Lisa Dorer, staff pharmacist, said.

Student makes finals in state singing contest

Ball State University Junior Brittany Kusserow is one step closer to earning $5,000 and recording time after advancing from the semifinal round of Campus Super Star on Wednesday. Men's basketball commits NCAA violations
