The Ball State University women's volleyball team announced its 2007 schedule Wednesday. The Cardinals open their season Aug. 24-25, hosting the Ball State Nike/Active Challenge with matches against Maine University, Southeast Missouri State University and Ohio State University.

Muncie community members can celebrate National Trails Day at the annual Cardinal Greenway 5K run and walk event, which is held the first Saturday of every June. The Ball State University football team announced Wednesday it will host its first-ever Women's Football Academy. Coach Hoke and his coaching staff will run the one-day, six-hour camp June 9 at Scheumann Stadium. The camp costs $30 and all proceeds will go towards the Ball Memorial Hospital Cancer Center.
Six runners from the Ball State University women's track and field team will travel to the NCAA Mideast regional championships this weekend in Columbus, Mo. Coach Randy Heisler said the competition will be strong. "It's the strongest regional meet in the country," Heisler said.
