Two days after losing 38-28 to Purdue University, Ball State University extended football coach Brady Hoke's contract through Jan. 31, 2011 with a base salary of $157,970. One of two Ball State University football players remains in Delaware County jail as of Tuesday afternoon after the other was released Monday, according to jail officials. Eulas Taylor III was released at 6:34 p.m. Monday after paying the $20,000 bond that was set during a bond hearing Monday morning, jail officials said, and Brandon Houston remains in jail until his bond is paid.

In March 2006, University Senate approved changes to the academic calendar that will eliminate Saturday finals and a day of Fall Break starting with the 2007-08 school year. On the new calendar, Fall Break runs Friday through Sunday. Finals are Monday through Friday.
