Emens Auditorium was filled to capacity for wildlife expert Jack Hanna's free, non-ticketed show Wednesday night, and hundreds were turned away at the doors prior to Hanna's show. Emens Events Manager Dina Byrnes estimated that about 500 people who came to Hanna's show were not admitted.

David Horowitz is no stranger to flying pies. Wednesday night, the controversial speaker was also subject to another type of pie - the delivery pizza pie variety. Regardless of humor, the plethora of pies were not appropriate or effective methods of protesting Horowitz's presence on campus.
Delaware County needs a disaster model of the damage flooding could cause before it can receive federal disaster relief funding, and Ball State University students are creating one. The students will use a program by the U.S. Homeland Security Agency that models how much damage would be done to the campus if Muncie flooded.
In an attempt to lessen his financial burden, Ball State University sophomore Ben Galvin attended Ivy Tech before transferring to Ball State. "Even though I began studying at Ivy Tech, I still expect to be in debt when I graduate," he said. Galvin is not alone in the struggle to pay for college.
With 53 percent of the vote, Sue Errington took one of the three state Senate seats that Democrats won in Tuesday's election, beating Republican opponent Andrew Phipps, who had 43 percent. Errington and Phipps were both confident as they entered their headquarters after the polls closed.

"We're pretty darn upbeat," Dennis Tyler, who won state representative for District 34, said. Wildlife expert Jack Hanna began his career at age 11 cleaning cages and caring for animals at a veterinarian's office in Knoxville, Tenn.. Forty-eight years later, Hanna is one of the world's most popular wildlife advocates, with more than 50 video documentaries and countless TV appearances to his credit.
