Turtle Tugs raises $5,000 for camp for seriously ill children

Delta Zeta sorority, along with the help of some gelatin, brought in more than $5,000 for charity with its annual Turtle Tugs philanthropy Sunday. Sarah Russell, philanthropy chairwoman for Delta Zeta, said the event was a success despite the poor weather.



MEN'S GOLF: Cards 13th at UK Bluegrass Invitational

The Ball State University men's golf team is in 13th place out of 18 teams at the University of Kentucky Owens/Brewer Invitational. After 14 holes of play, the tournament's second round was suspended due to poor weather conditions. "We had brutal weather conditions," head coach Mike Fleck said.


MEN'S VOLLEYBALL: No. 8 Ball State beats No. 15 Lewis

The No. 8 Ball State University men's volleyball team defeated No. 15 Lewis 30-24, 30-23, 27-30, 30-23 on Saturday in Romeoville, Ill. MEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Buckeyes beat Cards, win MIVA

Voting official arrested after attacking reporter, candidate

A voter registration deputy for Delaware County has returned to work following an arrest on suspicion of attacking a reporter for The Star Press who was interviewing a Ball State University student. Soccer star arrested for second time

A Ball State University soccer player was arrested Saturday for the second time in a year, according to police and jail officials. Junior Jennifer Vilkoski, 21, was arrested at her off-campus home on charges of failure to appear in court, according to police reports.


FOOTBALL: Cardinals play for the steak

Students hope to mail 1,000 letters

In an effort to increase political activeness on campus, three Ball State University students have organized a letter-writing campaign event for Saturday. Student organizer Betsy Mills said the event, which will be at 1 p.m. in the Art Museum, will focus on five issues: student rights, diversity, poverty, the environment and human rights.



SOFTBALL: Cardinals travel to Miami for big MAC games

TRACK AND FIELD: Cards enter second meet encouraged, discouraged

Instead of feeling comfortable having the first outdoor meet of the season under its belt, the Ball State University track and field team is troubled by a series of injuries as it enters Friday's Miami Invitational in Oxford, Ohio. Obama tickets run out

Despite taking names and phone numbers Wednesday for a waiting list for tickets, the Barack Obama campaign said, there will be no more tickets available for Saturday's speech. Genet Tseggai, communications director for Obama's Indiana campaign office, said everyone who received a ticket will be guaranteed entrance to Irving Gym.
