The MiXx, a new student-produced show, will air on Cardinal Vision tonight at 9:30 p.m., Executive Producer Starla Loyd said. The show aims for serious coverage of important issues through panel discussions and reporting, comedy with skits and shows and local talent, she said.
Ball State University Career Center representatives emphasized the importance of manners Tuesday at the professional etiquette dinner. Participants were divided into two groups in the Alumni Center for a networking lecture before the meal. James Mitchell, assistant director of the Career Center, said 90 percent of all people are afraid to mingle with people they do not know, but 99 percent of executives consider social skills important to business.

Children, candy and costumes filled residence halls as Ball State University students passed out candy to trick-or-treaters. Students were able to hand out candy to children from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Participating students put a sign on their door to let children know they would pass out candy.
Joe Cermak n Chief Reporter During Monday's testing of the text message alert system, Ball State University overcame an initial delay and recorded a time of 17 minutes to send about 4,000 texts. Loren Malm, assistant director security, policy, systems and assessment, said the delay was caused by a simple coding error attributed to the large number of message recipients.
The south side of Bracken Library was filled with music, calling those within earshot to the building, as part of a collaborative effort between WCRD and the library on Tuesday. WCRD promotions manager Jade Sullivan said the radio station was doing a live remote to support Bracken and to encourage people to read while they listen to the radio.

Many months ago when the National Football League announced its 2007 season schedule, one game stuck out. It's finally here as week nine is upon us. The game is the rematch of the AFC Championship game from last season. The game stars the Indianapolis Colts hosting the New England Patriots.

For the fourth consecutive time, the Cardinals competed against a BCS opponent into the second half and held a lead. However, Ball State was unable to make a few plays that could have changed the outcome in a 28-17 loss to Illinois.
The last time the Ball State University women's volleyball team won a match was Sept. 29, against the University at Buffalo. Since then, the Cardinals (3-21, 2-10 Mid-American Conference) have lost eight consecutive matches, the second-worst streak in program history.
Ball State University's text alert system is one step closer to functioning, but the 17 minutes it took for 4,000 phones to receive messages is too long. Hopefully, the university will productively spend time until the next test working out bugs as quickly as they can so this can be a practical form of communication.
The Ball State University L.A. Pittenger Student Center is dressing up for Halloween. In celebration of the holiday, the Asian American Student Association will transform the Student Center Ballroom into an Asian folklore-inspired haunted house. Sophomore Noel Kunz, AASA vice president, said haunted house visitors can expect to be scared but also informed about Asian culture.
Bags soared through the air of the Field and Sports Building Saturday, where 26 teams dueled for cornhole supremacy. The thuds of dozens of bags hitting the wooden boards echoed around the room, evidence that the class project was a success. Senior Adam Smith, a sports administration major, said he and his 31 classmates organized the tournament for their event management class.
A 1-0 loss at the University at Buffalo Friday prevented the Ball State University soccer team from clinching the Mid-American Conference regular season championship this weekend. However, the Cardinals (11-5-1, 8-1-1 MAC) maintained their MAC lead with a 2-1 win at Kent State University (7-9-1, 5-5 MAC) Sunday.
