Delaware Circuit Court 5 Judge Wayne Lennington said he granted Republican Party Attorney David Brooks' request for a change of judge to preside over the petition for election contest case. Lennington selected a panel of three judges, from which each attorney can remove one, he said.
For two months a wooden bird's leg out front of a Muncie birthing clinic has been without the rest of its body. Barb Bechtel, certified nurse and midwife for Expectations Women's Health & Birthing Center, said the center is thinking about reaching out to Ball State University for help.

Ball State University guard Peyton Stovall was named the Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week Monday. Another member of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is leaving Ball State University. Kyle Brennan, the director of athletics compliance and eligibility, is leaving Ball State for the University of Utah. "Kyle's done some good things," Collins said.
Following the Fall Semester, the emergency text alert system has about 5,000 members signed up for the service, Director of University Communications Kevin Burke said. At the text alert system's last testing, about 4,000 messages were sent in 17 minutes. Another test is planned, Burke said, but it is not yet scheduled.
Miller College of Business plans to use a $1 million gift to attract more freshmen. Rod Davis, interim dean of MCOB, said the Michael L. and Jacqueline J. Johnston Family Scholarship Fund donated the money to the college last fall. The money will be invested with a five percent return, Davis said, and the $50,000 MCOB receives from it next year will go toward scholarships for incoming freshmen.
The Atrium has a new look for Spring Semester as it changed one food eatery, moved another and updated a third during Winter Break. Ball State University students and faculty who eat at the food court will see Asian Creations changed to Atrium Creations. Where Asian Creations once had a build-your-own meal area, Caliente Mexican Cuisine, an eatery that once was a vending booth near the Ball State Bookstore, now resides.

From the moment it was announced following the conference championship week back in December to the moment I arrived in Toronto, I was skeptical of whether or not the International Bowl was a worthwhile bowl game for college football. After my three days in Toronto, my skepticism disappeared, leaving only a realization that the International Bowl has the potential to become one of the top tier bowl games.
Despite losing federal funding this month, administrators approved a proposal to institutionalize the Office of Victims Services, which includes the Victims Advocate Program. June Payne, director of counseling and health services, said after learning about the loss of the federal grant, administrators approved her proposal to keep the services, which are projects of the Campus and Community Alliance to Support Safety and Advocacy for Victims.
The time has come for athletics director Tom Collins to make the hiring decisions of his life. Since the university apologized to former men's basketball coach Ronny Thompson in December 2007, two members of the athletics department, Deputy Athletics Director Ken Brown and compliance director Kyle Brennan, have left the athletics department.
Take a moment to reflect on last semester and think if there was room for improvement.
