Looking at her starting post tandem of Julie DeMuth and Lisa Rusche these days, acting head coach Lisa McDonald can't help but think about how much the duo has changed during the past four years, she said. Friends remember, celebrate student at candlelight vigil

Candlelight illuminated the sidewalk in front of "Frog Baby" fountain Tuesday night as more than 50 people gathered to celebrate the life of Ball State University student Andrea Tallant. "If it was her, she'd rather us have fun, a celebration instead of a mourning," Kappa Delta President Aimee Voelker said.

MEN'S BASKETBALL: Out on high note

Peyton Stovall worked through pregame warmups on Senior Night in a businesslike fashion, not dwelling on the fact it was the final time he would practice the routine in Worthen Arena. As game time drew closer, though, the emotions of playing in his final home game for the Ball State University men's basketball team began to grow.

But one cold day, she and her roommate Danielle Jack gave rides to random students from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jack said Tallant hung her head out the window yelling "Rides for free!" while Jack drove.

THE BOGEYMAN: Debates need print element

On Monday, I happened upon Rob Burgess' column, calling for Ball State to sponsor a student debate between any interested political groups. He proposes a single debate, ostensibly between the College Republicans and the University Democrats. In principle, debates are always a good idea.

OUR VIEW: Vote Campus Alliance

Charisma just isn't enough. Andrews-Albritton '08 is a group of four personable, approachable people who gathered to try to change an organization on campus they felt was not functioning efficiently. However, it takes in-depth knowledge of the organization to know what needs to stay the same in order to make an effective, positive change.

BEWILDERED SOCIETY: Va-jay-jay, douchebag here to stay

Courtesy of my female roommate, the March 2008 issue of Cosmopolitan has graced the top of my toilet for the last few weeks. Its bright yellow cover with Rihanna taunts me every time I'm in the bathroom. It's not the magazine or its stereotype bugging me, it's just a particular series of headlines I can't help but cock my head slightly sideways at and painfully yell, "Why?" "YOUR VA-JAY-JAY," the cover said in large italic style.
