As we close in on the last month of Spring Semester, a lot of seniors are sick with all too familiar symptoms. But rather than suffering from chills and a high fever, we're plagued by the inability to concentrate in class, to care about completing assignments and to put forth that extra effort to avoid a downward trend in grade point average.
Down 3-1 to Anderson University going into the bottom of the second inning Wednesday, the Ball State University baseball team needed a boost. The Cardinals gave themselves that boost by cranking five home runs in the inning, putting 11 runs on the board and building a lead the Ravens couldn't match, powering Ball State to a 20-12 win.
Campus Alliance held its first Ball State University Student Government Association meeting Wednesday and about 20 senators filled the seats. Student e-mails are still under fire from spammers, causing e-mail accounts to become disabled and putting student messages at risk of being considered spam itself. Loren Malm, assistant director of security, policy, systems and assessment, said spammers infiltrated about 12 student e-mail accounts and Ball State University e-mail accounts had been disabled three times this semester.
Three Ball State University-affiliated women arrested in connection with an assault at a party will return to court to face battery charges this summer, the Delaware County Clerk's Office said Tuesday. A fourth woman who was arrested in connection with the same incident will have her initial hearing on Thursday, according to the Clerk's Office.
For the second time in a week, an e-mail scam has caused Ball State University Computing Services to disable e-mail services for university accounts for several hours Tuesday night. Loren Malm, interim assistant vice president of information technology, said two students gave out their accounts' usernames and passwords, which opened the gates for massive amounts of spam.

With two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning of game two against Butler University on Tuesday, the Ball State University softball team tied the score at 3-3. Bracken Library's Bookmark Café celebrated its anniversary Wednesday afternoon. The Bookmark Café supplied participants with complimentary samples of Seattle's Best Coffee and cappuccino muffin shots. A year after winning the Butler Spring Invitational, the Ball State University women's golf team defended its title with a first-place finish Tuesday. The Cardinals finished with a 639, 14 shots better than the second-place team, University of Evansville, at the two-day, 36-hole event.
