Ball State sports in review

With the Fall Semester almost finished, the DN sports staff hands out its report card grades to the BSU sports teams, highlighting the list is football and women's golf with A's. Football: AAn 18-point loss to Buffalo in the Mid-American Conference title game Friday was a bitter climax to the most successful regular season in Ball State football's 84-year history.

SPORTS FOR THOUGHT: Students should fight for Hoke

The students marched to the lawn outside the president's office, united under a common bond to fight what they deemed an injustice. Eight guards met them at the door, preventing them from entering the president's building. So they protested. The group of about 70 students shouted their disdain for the administration.

After more than a year and a half, the search for the new dean of the Miller College of Business has been narrowed down to three candidates. The final applicants for the position - Dennis Bline, Robert Pitts and Rajib Sanyal - have held public forums the past week to present their job qualifications to faculty at the college.


Bad economy makes holiday job hunt hard

Students may have a tough time getting holiday jobs during Winter Break this year. The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported in October that the Midwest's unemployment rate was 6.7, two points higher than the national rate and the second highest regional unemployment rate in the United States.

Campus election season is months away, but the process began Wednesday when Student Government Association nominated its new election board chair. BSU appoints Entrepreneurship director

Ball State University has appointed the interim director of the Miller College of Business' Entrepreneurship Center to the permanent position, according to an announcement released Thursday. Michael Goldsby took over the position after former director Larry Cox left Ball State for a job at Pepperdine University during the summer.
