Forum to discuss multicultural issues

The Student Government Association's Multicultural Council will hold a forum at 7 p.m. in Pruis Hall titled "What's the Point if No One Hears Me?" SGA Secretary Ebony Strong said the purpose of the forum is to broaden Ball State University students' minds concerning multicultural issues.



MEN'S GOLF: Cardinals sign two more for upcoming season

The Ball State University men's golf team added two more recruits to its 2009 roster Friday. Brodie Williams from Lapel High School in Lapel and Alex Stinson from Liberty Christian High School in Anderson will complete the 2009 class for head coach Mike Fleck.

The BCS standings are comprised of the Harris Poll, Coaches Poll and six computer polls.Ball State dropped four spots to No. 19 in the computer polls.The Cardinals had a lower computer average because their strength of schedule decreased after playing Miami, which is in last place in the MAC, last week.



WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: Junior forward sees first action as a Carindal

BLOOMINGTON - The result wasn't what the Ball State University women's basketball team and junior forward Danielle Gratton were looking for, but Gratton was happy to start her career as a Cardinal. Ball State lost its season opener 84-68 to Indiana University on Friday as a part of the Preseason Women's National Invitational Tournament.


Angel Tree to help families with holidays

Student Voluntary Services is helping children in the Muncie area have a better Christmas. The 17th annual Angel Tree begins today and sponsors underprivileged Delaware County children. Every year SVS and Delaware County Family Services compiles a list of local children in need.


200 attend black issues conference

Montique Taylor, Vice President of the Black Collegian Caucus at IPFW, said he found Saturday's Black Issues Conference motivating. "This conference has inspired me to reach out for more and do more for myself," Taylor said. "It has inspired me to reach higher and to make my goals easier to achieve.

President's office to provide more buses for Wednesday's football game

The Ball State University president's office has worked with Student Government Association to provide more buses to make sure all students wanting to go to the Ball State vs. Central Michigan game Wednesday night can get there. The signup to get on the buses is 8 a.


College Gaming League has first intercollegiate contest

Six Ball State University students battled a team from the University of Central Florida in the virtual world of Team Fortress 2 on Friday night. The match up, sponsored by Dell's College Gaming League, was the first intercollegiate gaming competition. Gamefire.

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Cards earn postseason home match

The Ball State University women's volleyball team dropped its two final regular-season matches this weekend to Western Michigan University on Friday and Northern Illinois University on Saturday. Perhaps more importantly, however, the Cardinals took advantage of two University of Toledo losses this weekend to earn hosting rights in the opening round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament.

FOOTBALL: More fan buses to be chartered for game

Students needing a ride to Wednesday's football game against Central Michigan University can sign up today for a seat on a bus up to Mount Pleasant, Mich. The Ball State University president's office and Student Government Association are providing as many buses as it takes to transport students who want to go to the game.


MEN'S BASKETBALL: Cardinals defeat Eastern Illinois in season opener

The Ball State University men's basketball team defeated Eastern Illinois 72-59 Saturday afternoon at Worthen Arena in both team's season openers. Coach Billy Taylor said he was satisfied to get win No. 1 this season under his belt early on. "I'm really proud of our guys coming out and playing really well in this first game," Taylor said.
