First screening of 'My Name is Jerry' set for May in Muncie

Ball State University alumnus Doug Jones will return to Muncie along with other members of the cast and crew from "My Name is Jerry" in May for the first screening of the Ball State- and Clothespin Films-produced film, the university announced today. The movie's cast and producers are almost finished with post production, and they will return to Muncie to thank the city for its help and seek input to see if any changes are needed before the final product is released, according to a press release.


MEN'S TENNIS: Fighting Irish sweep Cards

The University of Notre Dame has one of the best men's tennis teams in the country and it showed why against Ball State University. The No. 20 Fighting Irish took care of the Cardinals 7-0 Monday afternoon at the Muncie YMCA Tennis Center. Emergency alert test yields positive results

Ball State University's test of its emergency alert system Thursday yielded positive results and gave the university a chance to fix a few small problems, Tony Proudfoot, associate vice president of marketing and communications, said. The university had two goals with the test, he said - giving the emergency response staff practice and checking any problems that may exist.

Health Center cuts flu shots with thimerosal

Flu vaccines from the Amelia T. Wood Health Center will no longer contain thimerosal, an ingredient that could be linked to autism and Alzheimer's Disease. Dr. Kent Bullis, medical director of Ball State University's Health Center, said the clinic has ordered vials of Fluarix, which does not contain mercury-based thimerosal like the previously-used Fluzone.
