Ball State approves new bachelor degree

Ball State University's Board of Trustees agreed to create a bachelor of arts and science program for construction management. It also will revise the doctor of education in science degree, making it a Ph.D. in environmental science.


Ball State trustee says extending Gora's contract right move

Thomas DeWeese, a veteran member of the Ball State University Foundation, said extending President Jo Ann Gora's contract for two years past her current term was simply the right thing to do. DeWeese is the president of Ball State's Board of Trustees, which decided unanimously during its Dec. 18 meeting to extend Gora's contract to June 2014 from June 2012.

A state panel has approved revamped teacher licensing rules that Indiana's schools chief says will spur future teachers to spend more time learning subject matter and less time taking education classes.
