FOOTBALL: Ball State unable to close the door

Ball State took a 17-12 lead on Ohio University with just under six minutes to play, but after Jeremy Hill caught a 35-yard touchdown pass from Tanner Justice on a trick play, he was lost in the moment. Hill appeared to slap the ball back onto the field and was flagged for excessive celebration.

$5 million grant secures funding for 1st phase of Ball State's geothermal project

Ball State University received a $5 million grant for its geothermal project from the U.S. Department of Energy on Thursday."We're very grateful, especially for the help we've received from our federal congressmen and senators," said Philip Sachtleben, associate vice president for government relations at Ball State.

Ball Brothers gift benefits food bank

A gift from the Ball Brothers Foundation is helping a local food bank get closer to meeting its campaign goal. The organization donated $100,000 to the Second Harvest Food Bank of East Central Indiana earlier this week. The food bank's goal to raise $4 million began in 2007 as part of its Move Campaign, according to a press release.


WOMEN'S VOLEYBALL: Cards face MAC leader this weekend

What a difference a month makes. A month ago the Ball State University women's volleyball team (10-13, 3-7) was starting the Mid-American Conference slate with confidence and holding very high expectations.It had no reason to even think that by Halloween it would be fifth in the MAC West, five games behind division leading Western Michigan University (16-9, 8-2), whom Ball State faces Friday night.
