Ambassadors foster cross-cultural relationships

 Most people would find it extremely difficult to move away from family, friends and home to pursue an education in another country. Emmanuel Kwame Teye is one of about 500 students at Ball State University who have done exactly that in pursuit of a college degree. Teye, a first-year graduate student, traveled about 5,700 miles to Ball State from Tema, Ghana, to study cellular and molecular biology and to earn a postgraduate certificate in biotechnology.


University Dining brings kosher foods for holiday

This evening marks the start of the holy festival of Passover, an important tradition celebrated by Jews all over the world. On campus, University Dining has options available for students celebrating the holiday.



PARADOX OF A PLAIDED SWEATER: Government regulations on food hurt more than help

More than nine months ago, Mayor Michael Bloomberg of New York prohibited schools from selling homebaked goods as fundraisers because he wanted to put a halt to the obesity epidemic. He is now allowing children to sell things such as Doritos and Pop-Tarts, but still restricts the sale of anything homebaked, such as brownies, cookies or apple pies.

MEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Upset and swept - Ball State drops No. 3 Cal State Northridge in three

Ball State went from being swept by No. 3 Cal State Northridge on Friday night to returning the favor by sweeping the Matadors 30-24, 30-28, 30-22 Saturday night in Worthen Arena. It was Ball State's first victory against a ranked opponent in six attempts this season and the first time the Cardinals have defeated a top-five ranked team since defeating then-No. 4 IPFW in February 1999.


MEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Ball State's Nelson plays 'out of his mind' in upset victory

The feeling of knocking off a top-five team was something the Ball State University middle attacker had never experienced in his career. It was even more meaningful to Nelson, though, because he out-played an All-American in the process of securing one of the biggest upsets in Ball State's 46-year program history.
