Local artists to come together for Haitian relief

Muncie musicians, skaters, fans and business owners will come together Sunday to support Haiti relief efforts. The Haiti Relief Show is from 1 to 10 p.m. at Solutions Ramp Park in Muncie. The show will give attendees an opportunity to help the victims of the Haiti earthquake.



Diversity projects to be displayed at Letterman Building

Diversity issues such as terrorism in Uganda, an Iraqi refugee family in Indianapolis and an interactive Muncie map for iPhones are some of the topics that will be presented at a student symposium today.



Fashion Week dream realized

The lights go dim, there is silence through out the tent and in an instant and music bursts from the speakers. In four counts, the lights shine brightly and the first model steps out. The pit of photographers are adjusting their cameras to the lighting and are hoping they have it set by the time she makes it to the end of the runway. New York Fashion Week has finally begun, and an adrenaline rush is what gets everyone through this week.



Innovative string quartet to perform at Sursa

Brooklyn Rider strives to turn traditional music into something fresh. The string quartet — violinists Colin Jacobsen and Johnny Gandelsman, violist Nicholas Cords and cellist Eric Jacobsen — will perform today at Sursa Performance Hall. Brooklyn Rider studied classical musicians such as Joseph Haydn and Claude Debussy and work to find innovative ways of programming to communicate with its music.  Jacobsen said the group performs versions of traditional pieces as well as original work.


TRACK: Cardinals face tall task in conference championships

After finishing second in last week's Ball State University Quadrangular, the women's indoor track team will face tougher competition when they arrive on the campus of Central Michigan University for the Mid-American Conference Indoor Championships, beginning today in Mount Pleasant, Mich.
