Ind. tops nation in water pollution

ROCKPORT, Ind. - Indiana topped the nation last year in the amount of toxic chemicals its factories discharged into waterways, according to a report from an environmental ground that found Hoosier industries dumped more than 27 million pounds of pollutants into the state's rivers and streams.



Drawing with chalk prohibited on campus sidewalks

On a campus visit as a senior in high school, freshman Karen Trexler saw the fish in the fountain outside Woodworth Complex decorated with sidewalk chalk. She said it was part of what she found endearing about Ball State, and she and some friends decided to replicate the decorations one night two weeks ago.
