Two SGA slates to appeal penalties for early campaigning

Two student government slates are looking to appeal penalties after they were fined for campaigning early, according to WCRD News. The elections board met late Thursday night the same night as the vice presidential debate to discuss code violations. Atlas and Cardinal Direction each violated Article 6, Section 2, Part D which states: “Candidates may begin campaigning upon the close of the Nomination Convention and shall end upon the conclusion of the election.” Atlas’ Facebook profile and cover photos were posted before the end of the convention, according to WCRD.




Student group pushes for concealed carry on campus

The students building a grassroots advocacy group for conceal carry rights on Ball State’s campus defy expectations--they don’t even use the word “gun.” “It’s tied into gun violence,“ their president David Vest said.

Comic shop joins forces with Illinois store

Alter Ego Comics has been in an almost constant stage of transition since it opened over ten years ago. It has changed owners, locations and most recently, its name.

Ball State comeback falls short in loss to UNCW

Sophomore pitcher B.J. Butler struck out six hitters over 4.1 shutout innings, but the Ball State baseball team fell to the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, 4-2, at the Buffalo Wild Wings Battle @ the Beach at Wilmington, N.C.


Xanadu Boutique, an erotica shop in South Florida, has seen an increase in sales of adult toys and leather clothing since the rise in popularity of the book "50 Shades of Grey." Ball State improves to 4-2 with win over Bradley

The Ball State women's tennis team defeated Bradley 7-0 at the Muncie YMCA on Friday to improve to 4-2 on the season.  The win was the Cardinals' second straight overall. Ball State swept all three doubles matches to take the point. Junior Courtney Earnest paired with sophomore Rosalinda Calderon to defeat Alexa Brandt and Ashley Thai 6-3.
