New exhibit provokes discussion about global issues

Racism, censorship and warfare. Director of the David Owsley Museum of Art, Robert La France, admits that those subjects might not make for appropriate dinner conversation, but at a temporary exhibit in Ball State’s art museum, impolite dialogue isn’t just tolerated, it’s encouraged.



Pence terminates JustIN state-run news website

Three days after announcing state-run news service JustIN, Gov. Mike Pence is terminating the project. In a memorandum to all state agency heads on Thursday afternoon, Pence said, "However well intentioned, after thorough review of the preliminary planning and careful consideration of the concerns expressed, I am writing to inform you that I have made a decision to terminate development of the JustIN website immediately." The taxpayer-funded news source would have included feature stories written by the government’s press secretaries.

Ball State defeats Miami for 2nd time this season

The Ball State women's basketball rebounded quickly from its loss to the Mid-American Conference's top team in Ohio, winning in dominant fashion against Miami 72-55, the team's second blowout victory over the Redhawks this season.

Freshman makes immediate impact

It's easy to see why a 6-foot-10 three-year letter winner, two-time regional champion at Mount Carmel High School and Illinois and one of Volleyball Magazine's Fab 50 prospects for 2014 was of immediate interest to Ball State men's volleyball coach Joel Walton. Matt Walsh, the NCAA's leader in blocks per set, has stepped into the Ball State lineup and contributed immediately.
