The start of fall in Indiana consisted of summer like weather and heat waves. Certainly not the type of weather for sweaters and jackets, which is what we expect Fall to be. But with the start of October, fall weather will be returning to us.
The “False Fall” we have been experiencing during August and September has got us excited for the spooky season.
“Well right now I'm looking forward to getting cooler for one thing, because I'm like, why is it still 85?” said Freshman Eric Gomez.
We have been seeing temperatures in the 80s recently but next week we’ll see the temperature dive into the low 70s. Not quite sweater weather, but close. Just in time for the Halloween season.
While the temperature drops, expect to be able to feel the Fall season rushing in with pumpkin patches, haunted houses, hayrides and pumpkin carving.
For Gomez the spirit of Halloween and the season lies within scary movies.
“For some reason one thing that comes to mind is whenever me and my friends had like a Halloween get-together last year and I showed them the thing, John Carpenter's The Thing, for the first time, and I was already the one who saw it, and it was really interesting seeing how they reacted to it, and then we did some other fun activities” said Gomez.
“(My favorite is Jurassic Park) I think Jurassic Park counts as a horror movie, so I'd probably say that. But classical horror, I got to say the original Halloween from 1978.” said Gomez.
With the start of fall and finally cool, cold weather. Make sure to enjoy every bit of this fun-filled season.
