Retired Ball State Department of Media Professor Dr. Maria Williams-Hawkins has died, according to a post on the Ball State PBS Facebook page.
The post reads, "A journalist, professor, mentor, and unshakable force for good — Dr. Maria’s life was guided by aphorisms, scripture, and a commitment to helping others see their worth."
Alongside her role as a professor, Hawkins hosted "How We See It" on WIPB. Hawkins retired last month after 30-plus years at the university.
