Delaware County high school sports results from 2/19-2/24

Below are highlights and results from the past week’s Delaware County sporting events that those on the Daily News Sports Team were unable to attend. 

Monday (Feb. 19)

No results could be found.

Tuesday (Feb. 20)

Muncie Central boys’ basketball fell on the road to conference foe McCutcheon 46-45. Sophomore Landen Wells led the scoring for the Bearcats.

Daleville boys’ basketball traveled to Alexandria-Monroe and fell in a close game 71-69. The Broncos were led by senior Meryck Adams with 19 points.

Wes-Del boys’ basketball defeated Southern Wells 69-51. Senior Jacob Grant led the charge for the Warriors, scoring 14 points.

Muncie Burris boys’ basketball fell at home to Madison Grant 78-41. Senior Asher Donahue led the scoring for the Owls with 13 points.

Cowan boys’ basketball defeated Union 86-42 on the Blackhawks’ senior night. Seniors Mason Kidd and Timmy Watson led the way for Cowan with 16 points each.

Wednesday (Feb. 21)

Delta boys’ basketball defeated Shelbyville at home 51-42 in their final matchup of the regular season. No stats could be found for the game.

Thursday (Feb. 22)

Muncie Burris boys’ basketball traveled to Blackford and fell 78-42. No stats could be found for the game.

Friday (Feb. 23)

Yorktown boys’ basketball fell to Mt. Vernon 59-33 on the Tigers’ senior night. Yorktown was led by senior Jacob Grim with 10 points.

Muncie Central boys’ basketball lost at home to New Castle 63-25 in the Bearcats’ regular season finale. The Bearcats were led by sophomore Shemar Taylor with eight points.

Wes-Del boys’ basketball won their second straight home game, defeating Elwood 57-49. The Warriors were led by junior Josiah Love with 14 points.

Wapahani boys’ basketball defeated Shenandoah at home on the Raiders senior night 61-42. Senior Isaac Andrews led the scoring for the Raiders with 19 points.

Cowan boys’ basketball traveled to Southern Wells and took home the victory 47-44. The Blackhawks were led by senior Cole Duncan with 20 points.

Yorktown boys’ swim & dive competed in the IHSAA State Finals. Junior Henry Ko competed in the 100 meter butterfly, placing No.9 in the finals receiving a time of 49.56. Ko also placed No.13 in the 200 yard freestyle finals with a time of 1:42.84.

Saturday (Feb. 24)

No results could be found.
