Local community events weekend roundup

Events are planned for the next couple of days throughout Delaware County and Muncie. 

Today - Friday, June 16

Yorktown Farmers Marketplace will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. in Walnut Grove in Morrow’s Meadow. The Marketplace has a multitude of items including food, art and more. The park itself has several playgrounds and trails. 

Tonne Winery will have Cliff Ritchey performing as a part of their Tonne Winery Music Series. The concert will start at 6 p.m. and will run until 8 p.m. Farmland BBQ and The Food Vault will be there as well for food options. It is encouraged to bring your own lawn chair. 

The Hoosier Shakespeare Festival presents “The Comedy of Errors” and will perform at Minnetrista starting at 7:30 p.m. This is a free community event and people are encouraged to bring a blanket and picnic. 

Saturday, June 17 

The Cornfed Roller Derby (CFRD), a Smalltown Smackdown two-day tournament will compete for day one today. The CFRD is Muncie’s flat-track roller derby league. They will compete in the Memorial Building at the Delaware County Fairgrounds. A portion of the proceeds from all bouts will go to organizations making a difference in the community. 

The Farmers Market at Minnetrista will be from 9:00 a.m. to noon at 1200 N Minnetrista Parkway. The farmer’s market will have fresh produce and more. 

Cook and Belle will perform as a part of the Tonne Winery Music Series at Tonne Winery. The concert will start at 6:00 p.m. and go until 8:00 p.m. Farmland BBQ will be there with food options. Bringing your own lawn chairs is encouraged. 

Night two of the Hoosier Shakespeare Festival will perform “Measure For Measure.” It is encouraged to bring a blanket and picnic for this free event at Minnetrista. The event will start at 7:30 p.m. 

As a part of the Yorktown Summer Concert Series 2023, the Great Scott Band will perform starting at 7:30 p.m. at the Yorktown Civic Green. There will be food and drinks starting at 5:30 p.m. 

Sunday, June 18

The Historic Cammack Station is hosting a charity cruise-in and car show as a part of the 2023 Sundae Fun-days. It starts at 3:00 p.m. and runs until 7:00 p.m. All proceeds from all cruise-ins will go to Toys for Tots in Delaware County at the end of the season. It is encouraged to bring your dog and the whole family. 

On the third night of the Hoosier Shakespeare Festival, "The Comedy of Errors” will be put on at Minnetrista. It is encouraged to bring a blanket and a picnic for the night, the show starts at 7:30 p.m.
