Adrenaline-rushed players scrambled around the field in attempts to guide the ball toward the net but a scuffle between the teams resulted in two red cards, three yellow cards, seventeen fouls and a 10v10 match.

Western Michigan's second-year defender Mira Pierre-Webster tripped up falling to the ground in a scramble with Ball State's third-year defender Abby Elgert.

Players continued to pile up as Piere-Webster struck Elgert, already on the ground, resulting in fifth-year defender Grace Alsop rushing into the pile to defend her teammate.

Disciplinary actions led to a 10v10 match after red cards were dished out to Pierre-Webster and Alsop and a yellow to Ball State's head Coach Josh Rife for dissent.

With both teams down a player, the Bronco’s capitalized offensively winning the game, 2-0.

Third-year forward Jenna Blackburn took a shot in the 65 minutes placing the ball in the top left of the net giving them the lead.

Following in the 73rd minute fifth-year forward Reagan Wisser scored after receiving an assist from fourth-year midfielder Bria Telemaque.

The Cardinals play at home against Akron on Thursday, Oct. 3, at 4 pm.
