Air Force Band of Flight rocks the cardinals

Members of the official military show off their musical talents at the Ball State Emens Auditorium.

MUNCIE, Ind.--- The United States Air Force Band of Flight performed Wednesday night at Emens auditorium, displaying a wide variety of music. The group consists of 15 members from the official military. 

The band is stationed in Ohio, at the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, which is operated by the 88th Air Base Wing under the command of Col. Christopher Meeker. The 15 member organization serves the state of Ohio exclusively and is managed by Chief Master Sgt. Stephen Larson.

The Band of Flight presents more than 350 performances annually; performing for official military functions, ceremonies, civic events and public concerts. As one of the 10 active-duty Air Force and five Air National Guard bands, they are committed to supporting the mission and vision of the U.S. Air Force through their musical and military endeavors. The U.S. Air Force bands consist of two premier bands, nine active duty bands, five Air National Guard bands and a deployed band in the Central Command area of Southwest Asia. 

Air Force bands make an effort to honor, inspire and connect with communities all over the world with over six million listeners at over five thousand televised performances each year. Each band operates within their own geographic area of responsibility in an effort to represent America's Airmen to a global audience.
