Bracken Library has reopened its doors for visitors after a burst water main line closed the facility for about a week.

In a Sept. 13 campus-wide email from Loren Malm and Matthew Shaw, all visitors were directed to enter from the south entrance while the north entrance remains closed.

Any visitors wishing to access materials in the Education, Music and Media collections, including course reserves, should seek assistance at the Bracken Circulation Desk. Digital equipment can also be checked out from the main circulation desk. The Information Technology department will continue its operations of the ID Card Office in Robert Bell room 165.

Other Information Technology services, such as in-person support at Bracken's HelpDesk, Tech Center and the Technology Store, have resumed in Bracken Library and will operate on regular hours.

Bracken Library previously experienced flooding from water lines in April 2016 that affected the library's upper floors, said Greg Fallon, chief digital marketing and communications officer.

Fallon said via email Sept. 13 "an assessment of needed repairs and restoration of damaged areas [in Bracken Library] continues." Fallon said he will not know when Bracken's lower floor will be open until the assessment is complete.

This story will be updated.
