New student vaccination incentives coming soon for Ball State

Vice President for Student Affairs Ro-Anne Royer Engle announced in a campus-wide email Ball State will be launching a vaccination incentive program beginning July 14 and lasting into the fall 2021 semester for students and staff.

Each week, university staff will hold weekly drawings that any student who is fully vaccinated and has completed the fall student return form will be entered in.

Winning students will be selected at random are are eligible for prizes, including "bookstore and Tech Store vouchers, campus parking permits, dining cash, event tickets, VIP experiences, residence hall credits and much more," the email said.

To be eligible for the drawings, students must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 and complete an online form to verify their vaccination. This is the same form unvaccianted students will submit COVID-19 test results with, but fully vaccinated people will not be required to provide documentation.

Fully vaccinated students are exempt from wearing masks on campus, pre-arrival testing for the fall semester and quarantine requirements.

Royer Engle said she encourages students to read the COVID-19 response plan, and said the university is "grateful to all our students who have been vaccinated" and looks "forward to providing a traditional, vibrant educational experience for all of our students this fall."
