Are you tired of the routine? Do you feel like you’re missing out on something? You can be part of something greater with the U.S. Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) at Ball State University, one of the best leadership courses in the country.
ROTC is a challenging and rewarding opportunity that produces modern leaders who make a difference within our community and the U.S. Army. Our program is designed to give you the tools, training and experience that will help you succeed in any competitive environment. You will expand your understanding of leadership, military history, fieldcraft, small unit tactics, discipline and confidence through real experience.
Along with practical leadership experience, the ROTC program can pay for your college tuition and other education-related expenses. ROTC cadets may also eligible for scholarships, monthly stipends and additional forms of assistance. Upon completion of the program, you will be commissioned as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army.
As part of the Ball State University curriculum, the ROTC program is an elective curriculum you can take along with your required college classes. Our program offers a unique college experience that allows you to serve the United States and have a normal college student experience like everyone else on campus.
Our elective curriculum will also provide you with an 18-credit military science minor, which you can combine with dozens of majors. Our students have majors in a variety of professions; criminal justice, education, anthropology, construction management, exercise science, and industrial technology, to name a few. All fields come together to serve in the U.S. Army, built upon the foundation of trust and Army values.
