Ball State University’s Student Government Association (SGA) swore in the executive members of the Strive slate Wednesday in the Student Center.
Before passing the torch, SGA senators shared their favorite memories made within the past year. Connor Sanburn, president of the Bold slate, expressed his thanks to the organization.
“It's been a privilege being here with you all … getting to know me and our executive board. I’m excited to see positive change [next year],” he said.
Bold Vice President Jordyn Blythe assured senators the next executive board will continue to reach new heights.
“I am fully confident that you are all in good hands with Strive. [They] will undoubtedly take this [organization] to the next level,” Blythe said.
Strive was inaugurated following senate orders and awards. Strive President Tina Nguyen expressed her gratitude for the Bold slate.
“Our university is a better place now than it was before [Bold] came into office,” Nguyen said. “I would like to especially thank Connor [Sanburn] for being a great resource during the transition period and trying times.”
Nguyen also congratulated her other executive board members including Vice President Chiara Biddle, Chief Administrator Nita Burton and Treasurer Jacob Bartolotta. She also thanked the student body for voting for the slate.
Nguyen closed the ceremony by telling students Strive will hear all their concerns during the 2021-22 school year, quoting the slate’s motto, “by the students, for the students.”
The senate will meet next Wednesday, April 28, to discuss its new agenda.
