President Trump impeached

WASHINGTON(NewsLink) - The House of Representatives has voted to impeach President Donald Trump.

Both articles of impeachment were passed with a Democratic majority. Article one: abuse of power passed with a vote of 230 to 197. Article two: obstruction of Congress passed with a vote of 229 to 198.

Trump is the third president in U.S. history to be impeached. According to the Associated Press, he is also the only one that will run for reelection facing the political equivalent of an indictment, an indelible mark on a purposely disruptive presidency.

Trump began Wednesday tweeting his anger about the proceedings, saying things such as “can you believe that I will be impeached today by the Radical Left, Do Nothing Democrats, AND I DID NOTHING WRONG! A terrible Thing. Read the Transcripts. This should never happen to another President again. Say a PRAYER!”

As the House debated the articles of impeachment, Trump began tweeting in all caps, saying “SUCH ATROCIOUS LIES BY THE RADICAL LEFT, DO NOTHING DEMOCRATS. THIS IS AN ASSAULT ON AMERICA, AND AN ASSAULT ON THE REPUBLICAN PARTY!!!!”

The articles will now be sent to the Senate for a trial, where a two-thirds vote is necessary for conviction. According to the Associated Press, Republican’s hold a majority in the Senate and expect to acquit the president of the charges in the new year ahead of early state presidential primary voting. If the articles are passed in the Senate, Trump would be removed from office.
