Holcomb appoints First Merchants executive to Ball State Board of Trustees

Mark Hardwick, executive vice president, COO and CFO of First Merchants Corporation, a financial services holding company located in Muncie, was appointed by Gov. Eric Holcomb Monday to Ball State's Board of Trustees, a press release from the governor's office states.

Hardwick will be replacing board member Tom Bracken, who announced Friday that he would not be seeking reappointment for another term with the board.

According to his bio on First Merchants Corporation's website, Hardwick is a Ball State alumnus with bachelors degree in accounting and a masters degree business administration.

Prior to joining First Merchants Corporation in 1997, it states Hardwick was a senior accountant with BKD, LLP, a certified public accounting and advisory firm.

The press release states Hardwick will serve until Dec. 31, 2023. Additionally, it states Holcomb reappointed to the board Matt Momper, who currently serves as its assistant secretary.
