2019 Heartland International Film Festival Comes to an End

The 28th annual Heartland International Film Festival came to an end on Sunday. The 11-day festival in Indianapolis  features films and filmmakers from around the world. The festival featured more than 100 independent films, 200 visiting filmmakers and 300 film screenings. 

At the closing ceremony on Sunday, Oct. 20,  many films received awards. Some of the award winning films include:

Narrative Feature Grand Prize: House of Hummingbird, Directed by Bora Kim

The Documentary Grand Prize: For Sama, Directed by Waa Al-Kataeb

Jimmy Stewart Legacy Award: Fire On The Hill, Directed by Brett Fallentine

The Indiana Spotlight Grand Prize Winner: The Miseducation of Bindu, Produced by Ed Timpe and directed by Parthana Mohan 

The Indiana Spotlight Audience Choice Award: We Shall Not Die Now, directed by Ashton Gleckman
